How Dinners2Nite works
We built it for the 5:30 p.m. moment when nobody can decide.
One decision, not an endless list
Most dinner sites hand you hundreds of results and call it help. Dinners2Nite asks a few quick questions, then gives you one top pick and two alternates, each with a plain-language list of why it fits.
Every question can be skipped. Allergy and diet choices always apply to your decision, and Plus members can have us remember them.
What we ask
- Cook at home, eat out, takeout, or surprise me
- How much time you have
- Budget per person
- A craving or cuisine, or "you decide"
- Dietary needs and allergies
- What you already have at home (cooking, with Plus)
How we choose
Recipes
We never suggest a recipe that lists an allergen you told us to avoid, includes something you dislike, or misses a diet you need. Within what is left, we favor your craving, your time window, your budget and the ingredients you already have. If very few recipes fit your time and budget, we stretch those a little and say so.
Places
Restaurant and grocery store searches use Google Maps data. We show distance only when you share your location, and we never invent listings, ratings or hours. If live search is not available, we say so and link you to the same search on Google Maps.
Numbers
Recipe times come from the recipe. Cost per serving is always an estimate based on typical US grocery prices. Allergen and diet labels describe the recipe exactly as written, so please read your ingredient labels.
Get the app
Dinners2Nite installs on your phone like an app, with no app store needed. It opens full screen from your home screen, and your saved recipes and shopping list keep working even without a signal.
Coming soon
These are ideas, not features you can use today: weekly meal plans, and ordering groceries for delivery. We will add them only when they work properly.
Stop wondering.Start eating.
It takes less time to decide with us than to scroll your phone.
